Can you cure cancer with your hands?

Posted Friday, June 20, 2014

A totally mind-blowing experience: I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Bengston last week at the Society for Scientific Exploration. (I was present because the Society was kind enough to award me their Dinsdale Prize.) Among all the many intriguing talks at that meeting was Bill's presentation: he cures cancer in mice, with 100% success rate. He does this by using his hands. Nothing else. Yes, this sounds awfully suspicious,... continue reading

eBooks are alive!

Posted Monday, April 28, 2014

Three eBook versions of The Fourth Phase of Water were just (finally) released.  We spent considerable time dotting our “i”s, crossing our “t”s, and reformatting our .PNGs.  We are very happy to offer three digital versions: ePub: This is the most common eBook format.  It is “reflowable” meaning it will look somewhat different depending on the particular device and the reader’s preferences. The file size is 19.1 MB. Kindle: We... continue reading

The Fourth Phase of Water wins an award!

Posted Thursday, January 30, 2014

The Fourth Phase of Water, Beyond Solid, Liquid, and Vapor brought home the “Distinguished” award from the Puget Sound Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. This is their top tier award. The criteria for judging are based not only on content but also on how the information in the book is presented — the layout, flow of text, illustrations, etc. We spent many long hours nit-picking these details, especially... continue reading

Fluorescing Fish

Posted Monday, January 13, 2014

New findings reported in the NY Times show that when exposed to blue light, fish fluoresce in several vivid colors. This fluorescence was a surprise to the observers, and seemingly also to the NY Times reporter. However, the result is not at all surprising. We found that structured water (EZ water) fluoresces at visible wavelengths. For anyone interested, the paper is:  Chai BH, Zheng JM, Zhao Q, Pollack GH. Spectroscopic... continue reading

Can Water Cure Disease?

Posted Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Many claims exist for the health benefits of certain waters. Such claims frequently evoke skepticism because the people who make them often have financial interests in the waters they produce or endorse. We simply do not know whether those waters can really promote health and reverse pathologies. Our recent discovery of water’s fourth phase lays a new foundation for understanding the role of water in health. Evidence suggests that this... continue reading

Just posted interview on water and health.

Posted Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Another Skype Interview. The interviewer was Bob McCauley, who wrote a thoughtful book on “ionized” water (a.k.a “alkaline” water). Bob is really knowledgeable about water and nature, and was therefore a thoughtful and provocative interviewer. He commented that the result was one of his best, ever. Bob asked great questions, demanding thoughtful answers. Hope you enjoy:Part 1Part 2   continue reading

TEDx video on EZ Water finally uploaded.

Posted Thursday, September 19, 2013

Just released: TEDx video on EZ water. It tells the story in 24 minutes – a kind of capsule emphasizing some of the most salient points. Getting that video posted has been quite a saga. The live presentation took place in Canada, at the University of Guelph. The backdrop was neat, the atmosphere was full of anticipatory excitement, but technical aspects of the production gave reason for pause: problems with... continue reading

My interview with health guru, Dr. Mercola.

Posted Friday, August 23, 2013

Just posted: my Skype interview with Dr. Mercola on the role of water in health.Mercola is the well-known natural health guru with millions of subscribers. His interest in health has been shifting toward water as a core element. I think he’s on track. We resonate on that issue. The interview was Q and A style, but the edited version was largely a monologue. I’m glad they included some of the more... continue reading

Does hot water freeze faster than cold water?

Posted Friday, June 21, 2013

Erasto Mpemba, a middle school student in Africa, decades ago found indeed that hot water froze faster than cold water: when Mpemba added ice-cream mix to warm water instead of cold water, and shoved those mixes into the freezer, the warm water created ice cream faster than the cold water. A paradox. During the past several months we found in laboratory experiments that it was not just the ice cream... continue reading

Blood flow without a heart?

Posted Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Finally, our two research papers on this fascinating subject were accepted for publication within a day of one another. No, we’ve not proved that blood can flow in the absence of cardiac pumping, but we’ve found something in the lab that bears on that question. When we immerse a straw-like tube in water, we find that water flows axially through the tube, like blood in a vessel. If flows almost ceaselessly.... continue reading

Electric Universe Squeezed into Our Home

Posted Monday, May 20, 2013

Well, not exactly. However, members of the Electric Universe community gathered at our Seattle home for pizza and discussion. It seems that our home has become a gathering place for Electric Universe locals. For those unaware of this interesting group, do check them out here. Gaining increasing following practically by the month, this group constitutes a point of focus for those who think that gravitational forces may be less relevant to... continue reading

Fourth Phase Book Interview

This audio interview was short and sweet: six minutes. Gave me a chance to compress the meat of the book into a swallowable chunk, with a little bit of relish added. Here is the link. continue reading

Annual Water Conference…moves to Bulgaria

Posted Tuesday, April 30, 2013

The Annual Conference on the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology of Water is moving from Vermont to Bulgaria. We organized this set of meetings almost a decade ago with the good graces and financial underpinning of the Vermont Photonics Company. The meetings have been hugely successful — emphasizing new, often eye-popping findings from prominent scientists and young scientists worldwide. Nobel laureates have been attracted to these friendly, informal meetings.Logistical issues have... continue reading

Scathing Attack on Wilhelm Reich

Posted Thursday, April 25, 2013

The journal WATER, www.waterjournal.org which I edit, has recently published some controversial papers. Authored by James DeMeo, one paper responds to a scathing attack on the famed Wilhelm Reich. Reich was a student of Freud. He became interested in many scientific subjects, including a new life form, which he called the “bion” and a new kind of energy known as “orgone” energy.Reich’s books were burned first by the Nazis, and... continue reading

Chang for Lunch – Does water boil at 100°?

Posted Thursday, April 25, 2013

While at Cambridge University recently, Emily and I had a nice lunch with Hasok Chang and his wife Gretchen. From Korea originally, Hasok is now in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at Cambridge. His approach differs from most philosophers: he actually does experiments. Hasok revels in repeating experiments carried out centuries ago, hesitating not one iota in offering fresh reinterpretation. One of Hasok’s recent works deals with water’s... continue reading

Interview with Emoto

Posted Tuesday, April 16, 2013

A joint interview with the spiritualist Masaru Emoto is now available. You may know Emoto — he’s become famous for his work on ice crystals: A gentle “I love you” or a pleasing Bach cantata produces lovely crystals, while an “I hate you” shriek or hard rock music produces grotesque crystals. Karen Elkins put Emoto’s spirituality together with our science to see what the brew might bring. Emoto and I... continue reading

Visit with Rupert and Jill

Posted Monday, April 08, 2013

While in the UK for a conference, Emily and I enjoyed dinner at the home of Rupert Sheldrake and his wife Jill Purce. Jill is widely recognized for developing chanting overtones for therapeutic use. Rupert is a mesmerizing lecturer and author of some dozen books dealing with unconventional science. His research topics include: Do your pets really know when you leave your office to come home? Do you really know... continue reading

The Fourth Phase of Water- on its way!

Posted Friday, April 05, 2013

The Fourth Phase of Water: Beyond Solid, Liquid, and Vapor is finally out. We just got news from the Korean printer that the books are on their way to several warehouses scattered throughout the US. That’s great news after several years of preparation. The samples we received are amazingly beautiful although Ethan (artist, son) laments that the colors of his carefully executed figures don’t exactly match what he’d specified. If... continue reading
